Cooks Illustrated tested a few years ago and found that boiling 'em for three minutes killed more e. coli than bleaching them. I boil mine for 5 minutes about every other day, and they stay odor-free, bright and in fine condition for a long time -- until the green scrubby part is getting worn through, and bits of sponge are starting to fall off. At which point they're set aside for scrubbing floors or cat litter boxes, as they can then be thrown away without feeling wasteful. nmontesanoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20487305.post-79974429919033609072008-07-16T14:20:00.000-07:002008-07-16T14:20:00.000-07:00Fujisecret- I'm so happy you delurked even though ...Fujisecret- I'm so happy you delurked even though that means an end to your guilty pleasure...unless the part that made it a guilty pleasure is the nature of my blog? She and I were really good friends in college and then lost touch and then reconnected and then I think we lost touch again kind of and have since reconnected. I visited her up there a couple of years ago. We used to go to Dead shows and all sorts of left leaning activities. She and I are now very different, I'm pretty sure she describes me as her heathen, on the road to perdition friend. For my part I still hope that she is just going through a phase. I am hoping to get up there in the next week or two. Her birthday is at the end of this month and mine is the 6th of Aug. The big 40 for both of us. I am off for a bike ride with my practically Mother in law who is visiting from England. Enjoy the day. I hope it remains cooler. -toniaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20487305.post-11630203890609974462008-07-16T09:21:00.000-07:002008-07-16T09:21:00.000-07:00Oh Angelina, you crack me up without, you DVD watc...Oh Angelina, you crack me up without, you DVD watcher you. Also the Golden Valley Brewery is pretty good for pub food. Their french fries are great and my mom had some good chicken dish there.

When are you coming up? Who is your friend? I like it and have indulged in the same manner, but my edible guilty pleasure would have to be Julie's lemon frozen yogurt. It is a local brand and absolutely deelish! I can and frequently do eat a pint in one sitting. If you like frozen yogurt and you can find it I recommend it highly. Romance yes, magazines (British Country Living especially), SEE's Chocolates was just paid a visit by me on Monday. I love the Bordeaux bars. Happy endings...Cold Comfort Farm is one of my favourite movies, I love how it is all tied together happily at the end. Another guilty pleasure for me is the British shows on OPB on Sat night. I have been known to leave parties early so that I can watch them. (Sad, I know.) I also know that I can rent most of them but...that isn't the same. I prefer sleeping solo, I absolutely hate being breathed on while trying to sleep. Thanks for sharing this was fun! I am going to be going up to Mcminnville to visit a friend of mine who lives there. Any recommendations for nice lunch spots?
--toniaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
